Mondays can make us feel like we need to hit the ground running.
Answer everything.
Plan everything.
Fix everything.
Start everything.
But you don’t have to rush into your week to have a good week.
Sometimes the wisest thing you can do is give yourself a little time to get your bearings.
Pray.
Look at what’s actually in front of you.
Decide what matters most.
And then move forward from a place of peace instead of pressure.
“This is the day that the Lord has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it.” — Psalm 118:24
That verse reminds me that today is not simply another day I need to conquer.
It is a day God has given me to live.
And I don’t want to become so focused on everything I need to accomplish that I miss the day itself.
When we rush, it can be easy to move through life without really being present.
We finish one thing while already thinking about the next.
We sit with our families while mentally organizing tomorrow.
We accomplish something we prayed for and immediately move on to the next goal without stopping to thank God for how far we’ve come.
Slowing down gives us room to notice.
Room to think.
Room to make better decisions.
Room to be present with the people around us.
And room for gratitude.
That doesn’t mean you won’t have a full week.
You may have meetings, homework, work deadlines, laundry, business goals, appointments, meals, and a hundred little things that need your attention.
But you do not have to carry the entire week today.
Give yourself permission to ease into it.
Ask God for wisdom about what deserves your attention now and what can wait.
Take the next faithful step.
Then take another one.
You may find that you feel less stressed, more thoughtful, more present, and much more grateful for the life happening around you.
So this Monday, don’t rush into everything.
Receive the day before you try to conquer the week.
Lord, thank You for another Monday. Help me move through this week with wisdom instead of pressure. Give me peace in my mind, clarity about what matters, and the ability to be fully present in the life You’ve given me. Help me notice Your blessings instead of rushing past them. Amen. ❤️
Tired and hopeful. One faithful step at a time.
xoxo
