If you want something, go get it. Period.
You want a new job? Apply.
You want to work from home? Start looking for work-from-home jobs that actually fit your skills and your life.
You want to change careers? Figure out what the transition requires and start taking the steps.
You want to build something? Start building.
Planning matters. Thinking matters. Praying matters. But eventually, you have to move.
I say this as an internal processor. I can think about something, research it, make a plan, rethink the plan, and then think about why I thought about the plan the way I did in the first place. 😂
But I’ve learned that eventually my internal processing has to become external action if I want my plans to actually come to fruition.
Thinking can help you get clear. Action gives that clarity somewhere to go.
So, if working from home is something you’ve been wanting, let’s move.
5 Work-From-Home Jobs to Start Exploring
One thing I’ve learned about job searching is not to get too attached to one exact job title. Different companies can use completely different titles for very similar work.
Instead, start by thinking about the kind of work that might fit you. Then learn what employers are calling it.
1. Content Coordinator
If you enjoy writing, organizing information, creating digital content, working with websites or social media, or helping creative projects move from idea to completion, content coordination may be worth exploring.
But read the description.
One company’s Content Coordinator may spend most of the day writing. Another may be scheduling content, uploading information, maintaining calendars, coordinating projects, or working with a creative team.
Could this work fit you? Consider whether you enjoy the creative side of content, the organizational side, or both.

Customer service is much broader than answering phones.
Depending on the company, you might support customers through phone, email or chat, answer questions, troubleshoot problems, manage accounts, or help people navigate a company’s products and services.
Could this work fit you? Consider how much interaction you want throughout your day and pay close attention to the schedule. A job being remote doesn’t necessarily mean it’s flexible.
3. Processing Specialist
This is one of those areas you may not think to search for, but processing work exists across industries.
Companies need people to process applications, records, orders, enrollment information, claims, documents and other information.
If you’re detail-oriented, comfortable navigating systems, good at following processes and enjoy working independently, this may be an area to explore.
Could this work fit you? Look at workload expectations, quotas, repetition and how much customer interaction is involved.

4. Education Support
You can work in education without necessarily being a classroom teacher.
There are jobs supporting students, programs, enrollment, admissions, training, academic services and educational organizations.

Could this work fit you? If you enjoy helping people learn, understand information or navigate systems, take a look. Just pay attention to the qualifications because some positions require specific education, experience or credentials.
5. Virtual Assistant or Administrative Support
Virtual assistant and administrative support roles can cover everything from managing calendars and email to research, scheduling, customer support, data entry and project coordination.
And because the responsibilities vary so much, don’t judge the opportunity by the title alone.
Could this work fit you? If you’re organized, adaptable, comfortable managing several responsibilities and good at helping things run smoothly, this could be another area to research.

Don’t Just Look for a Remote Job. Look for Work That Fits.
This is where I want you to slow down for just a second.
Not to stop moving. 😂
Just long enough to ask:
Does this work actually fit my life?
Can I do the work?
Do I want to do this kind of work?
Does the schedule fit?
Does the pay fit?
Do I already have the skills, or could I reasonably develop them?
Does this opportunity support the life I’m trying to build right now?
Because remote tells you where you work. It doesn’t tell you whether the work fits.
And sometimes we get so excited about what we want that we forget to ask whether the opportunity in front of us is actually what we need.
At Some Point, You Have to Go Get It
I’ve seen this principle play out throughout my own career.
When I wanted to work in entertainment, I didn’t know anybody in the industry. I had to start finding opportunities, building relationships and figuring out how to get myself in the room.
When I wanted to work in education, I took tests, earned credentials and pursued the opportunities available to me.
When I wanted to become a content creator, I picked up a little digital camera that mostly took pictures and recorded a little bit of video. 😂
I started with what I had.
That’s the part I don’t want you to miss.
You don’t necessarily need the entire path figured out before you move.
Sometimes you need to take the next available step.
Apply for the job.
Update the resume.
Learn the skill.
Send the email.
Make the connection.
Ask the question.
Start the thing.
And then get up tomorrow and do it again.
Because consistency trumps one great day of effort any day.
Your Ambition Can’t Remain Invisible
If you want something out of your career, eventually people need to know.
If you’re looking for a job, start applying.
If you’re changing industries, start positioning your experience for the industry you’re moving toward.
If you’re building a business, tell people what you do.
If you want to be known for something, start showing people what you know.
You can have an incredible vision sitting inside your head.
But at some point, what’s happening internally has to become visible externally.
And for those of us who believe God is directing our lives, going after something doesn’t mean chasing everything we see. There are times to move and times to wait. There are doors that may not be ours to walk through at all.
But when you have clarity about the direction you’re supposed to move in, don’t let endless planning become the thing that keeps you standing still.
Go get it.
And If Your Resume Is the Thing Holding You Up…
Dust that thing off. 😂
Seriously.
If you’ve found jobs you’re interested in but your resume no longer represents who you are, what you’ve accomplished, or the value you can bring to your next position, that’s something you can start working on today.
